It’s been nearly three years since noisy Modena-based psych/gaze aficionados ‘Rev Rev Rev’ unleashed ‘Des Fleurs Magiques Bourdonnaient’, a full length release that can only be described as one of the best gaze albums to ever have come out of this burgeoning sonic reinvention of the revered shoegaze sound. Crossing over into multiple sonic disciplines, ‘Rev Rev Rev’ conjure up a formidable wall of unrelenting fuzz & reverb that at times dives headlong into a dark & foreboding sonic world whilst staying true to it’s European shoegaze credentials. The band have returned with an immense new single entitled ‘Clutching The Blade’, the lead track from their highly anticipated new album ‘Kykeon’, penned in for release this autumn via the veritable Fuzz Club Records. With a plethora of rave reviews, bucketful’s of airtime, recently being selected to play at this years SXSW festival, ‘Rev Rev Rev’ have been on an upwards trajectory for quite some time. Add into the mix an overall sound that ticked most of London-based Fuzz Club Records boxes and it was only a matter of time before ‘Rev Rev Rev’ popped onto their radar.

The band are made up of Laura Iacuzio – guitar/vocals, Sebastian Lugli – guitar, Andrea Dall – bass & Greta Benatti – drums and ‘Clutching The Blade’ is available to buy/download right now via

‘Clutching The Blade’ is an unrelenting sonic behemoth. Swathes of fuzzed out guitars, charging bass impressions and explosive percussion surge and flow through layers of fizzing reverberation as Laura Iacuzio directs proceedings with those cutting incantational vocalisations. This is absolutely immense. ‘Rev Rev Rev’ have collectively injected an abrasiveness into their sound on this track that is both captivating & immersive all at once. This only bodes well for the full album release.
