Formed in 2013 between Bologna & Florence, noisy Dosso Del Liri based alt-gazers 'Human Colonies' have just unleashed the stunning lead single entitled 'Big Domino Vortex' (and it's brilliant accompanying video), lifted from their forthcoming seven track debut EP of the same name penned in for release on 23rd January 2016 via MiaCameretta Records & Lady Sometimes Records respectively. Their sound languishes around the fuzzier end of the shoegaze spectrum with driving 90's alternative rock tendencies deftly underscored by melodious swathes of layered reverberation and punchy vocalisations. The band are made up of Giuseppe Mazzoni - vocals/guitar, Sara Telesca - bass & Claudio Palo - drums and 'Big Domino Vortex' follows on from 2015's seven track release 'Calvary'.
'Big Domino Vortex' lurches into earshot on a wave of swirling feedback before exploding into the ether on a bedrock of driving percussion and melodious, throbbing bass frequencies. It's verse progressions swoon as those up front vocal lines ride a fuzzy sonic tidal wave before we're treated to those explosive chorus parts and it's luscious lead lines. Punchy, smooth and to the point 'Big Domino Vortex' only whets the appetite for what's to come on the full EP!

'Ten Million Suns' echoes in a swirling haze of reverberation as the highly addictive vocalisations of Terry Kirkbride shimmer and glide through diminished instrumental drones, fizzing percussion and tremulous acoustic frequencies. The track loops and arcs through many different sonic permutations all the while cushioning your senses with beautifully intense passages of hypnotically charged psychedelic tones deftly underscored by brilliantly executed production techniques.
Austin based shoegaze/alt rock four piece 'Honeyrude' have unleashed the first single, a one song teaser entitled 'Roger McClain' and it's brilliant accompanying video from their forthcoming full EP that's penned in for release sometime in the spring via Shifting Sounds. The band are made up of Ian Lund - guitar, Billy Kunath - bass, Paul Goetz - drums & Jess Ledbetter - guitar/vocals and what they collectively create are melodious soundscapes filled with mesmerising lead licks, uplifting hooks and glorious vocalisations that deftly skip through jangling shoegaze & brilliantly executed rock ‘n’ roll whilst being marvellously steeped in 90's sounding nostalgia.
The band reference My Bloody Valentine, The Verve, Failure, Medicine, Teenage Fanclub & Swervedriver as major influences on their overall sound so what's not to like?
We'll be keeping our well tuned ear's out for these guys throughout 2017.
Irish based 'Easy Tide' have been floatin round for a while now. Establishing themselves in drips and drabs, one constant theme in the 'Easy Tide' sound is the frustrated surf, blues, fuzz & rock mix.
Hazy & bored, yet passionate & angry (ANGRY REACTS ONLY TO THIS VIDEO).
'Mind Your Head' takes the aesthetic of vaporwave by way of using a grand 90's colour scheme to present their new, trippy and suggestive video. The tune itself is a passionate blast of fuzz & huge bass, a modern classic in the making!
In other words, this video is lit A.F
Miss this at your peril.

'Alice' surges with dark sullen energy as it's melodious fuzzy bass frequencies weave & bob in and out of those highly infectious lead guitar lines. Subdued metronomic percussion and hauntingly good synth swells add tons of atmosphere as Craig Dyer's vocalisations hold court, keeping you transfixed on his impressive gothic tone.

Our good friends 'Tuath' have joined forces with 'Nartystation Films' to unleash a veritable feast for the eyes in the guise of their latest accompaniment to their absolutely immense single 'Who Do You Want Me To Be'. Lifted from the bands latest EP entitled 'Existence Is Futile', 'Who Do You Want Me To Be' takes us on a mind bending visual journey reminiscent to those over the top, but highly infectious, 'Primus' videos of old (albeit with a considerably better sonic accompaniment).
‘Tuath’ mesmerised the musically saturated underground back in March 2015 with their intensely addictive & deeply experimental debut EP ‘An Taobh Tuath(Ail)’ closely followed by their immense spaced out single ‘Amhairc Thart Ort Fein’ in September of the same year. This year the band returned with a blistering four track EP entitled ‘Existence Is Futile' and have again cemented their status as one of the best experimental psych/prog outfits around today.
'Existence Is Futile' is available to buy/download from tuath.bandcamp.com and you can also check out some fantastic outtakes from the track 'Who Do You Want Me To Be' right now via the band's soundcloud page: soundcloud.com/tuath
Italian based psych gaze aficionados 'RevRevRev' have unleashed a visual monolith in the form of their latest video to accompany the sonic monster that is 'A Ring Without An End'. Hailing from Modena, 'RevRevRev' have been wowing audiences around Europe and beyond with their no-nonscense, hard hitting brand of psychedelic shoegaze. The band are made up of Laura Iacuzio, Sebastian Lugli, Andrea Dall'Omo & Greta Benatti and this latest single is lifted from their magnificent album 'Des Fleurs Magiques Bourdonnaient' which had it's full release back in February 2016.
The immense video for 'A Ring Without An End' is a little tribute by the band to 'Alejandro Jodorowsky' and in particular to his psych masterpiece 'El Topo' (Mexico/USA, 1970).
You can still get your hands on a copy of 'Des Fleurs Magiques Bourdonnaient' on various formats from: revrevrev.bandcamp.com
Brooklyn based experimental post-punk/dark-wave trio 'Decorum' have unleashed a masterful new video to accompany their latest single entitled 'Near Gone'. Summoning the ghost of MTV and those early 90's music video trends, 'Decorum' have used a home made green screen to superimpose themselves over a dilapidated church. The video was filmed in their closet of a practice space which measures 9ft by 9ft. It's this kind of DIY attitude that makes bands like 'Decorum' stand out from the crowd. After all, the foundations of post-punk were manufactured around the creative genius of forward thinking DIY musicians. Without their educated madness there would be no post-punk!
